Ear reshaping, correction of protruding ears.

INDICATION
Ear deformities.

COUNTER INDICATIONS
Non consent of the patient if under age.

SURGERY (as out-patient possible)
Incision at the back of the ear. From there the ear cartilage is weakened through scouring and modeled in the desired shape which is maintained with sutures.
  Operation time   1-2 hours.
  Anesthesia          usually local anesthesia .
  Scars                   behind the ear.

POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS, UNDESIRABLE RESULTS
Hematoma.
Hypertrophic scarring.
Infection.
recurrence.

POSTOPERATIVE CARE
Head bandage.
Suture removal after 1 - 2 weeks.
Resume work after 1 week.
